Agbonlahor predicts Aston Villa to make two ‘big’ changes v Tottenham and axe ‘great’ player
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Jack Grealish and Tyrone Mings to both come into the Aston Villa starting XI against Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer suggested Kortney Hause and Bertrand Traore could be axed from the team that lost 3-2 against Crystal Palace.
Dean Smith revealed in his pre-Tottenham press conference that he was hopeful both Mings and Grealish would be available for the game.
Grealish has featured from the bench in Villa’s last two fixtures after missing 12 games with a shin injury.
“I think Mings will come back in,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He had a little rest because of an injury but he’ll definitely come back in.
“Grealish has felt his way back in. I reckon this will be a perfect game for him to start after two 20-odd minute appearances.
“It’s a good chance for him to start. Spurs away is a big game and a big stadium.
“He’ll want to show everybody how fit he is and how much of a good player he is.
“You’ll see Grealish on the left. [Anwar] El Ghazi has been great but when you’ve got the calibre of Jack and you’re the captain as well you demand where you play. That’s what players of that class do.
“The manager knows El Ghazi has been great but Jack will be more effective in that position.
“I think El Ghazi will go on the right with [Ollie] Watkins up front. Then the midfield might be the same, depending on how defensive he wants to play.
“Jack’s done his best work on the left this season, not in the number 10 position.”
In other news, an Aston Villa star who’s cost £1million per appearance won’t be at the club next season.
