Agbonlahor: Rondon 'not good enough' for Everton after horror reveal
Salomon Rondon is not good enough to be starting regularly for Everton, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Everton still need to find a proper alternative to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.
Rondon has started the Toffees’ last two games with both Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison injured.
He was ineffective in his full debut against Aston Villa and was replaced by Andre Gomes just after the hour mark.
The striker followed that up with another lacklustre display against Queens Park Rangers in the Carabao Cup.
According to sofascore, Rondon completed just seven passes at Loftus Road and had fewer touches (23) than goalkeeper Asmir Begovic (27).

Asked for his assessment of the 32-year-old’s suitability to Rafa Benitez’s side, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Rondon’s a good player to come on for the last 10 or 15 minutes when you need a goal.
“You can get the ball up to him and he can be physical and win the flick-ons.
“But if Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison are going to be out for a while, he’s not good enough to be that back up.
“Everton need to address that situation.
“Let’s not forget he’s been in China for a while so he’s not up to the pace of English football yet.”
Rondon signed a two-year deal with the Goodison club after moving on a free transfer at the end of August.
He has scored 35 times and provided 15 assists in 140 Premier League games for West Brom and Newcastle United.
