Agbonlahor salutes Bale after Tottenham transfer news
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Gareth Bale has made the right decision not to return to Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed Bale can have a fresh start at Real Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti next season.
New Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo revealed yesterday (16 July), via football.london, that the Wales captain will not be returning to north London.
However, he did admit that he has to add attacking players to his squad.
Bale spent last season on loan with Tottenham and his 34 appearances yielded 16 goals and three assists.
He will now to the Spanish capital with 12 months left on his Real Madrid contract.

Asked whether Bale is right to stay with Real, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I do.
“Gareth Bale’s got nothing to prove as a footballer. He’s won it all domestically, he’s won the Champions League.
“He’s got nothing else to prove, he’s had an amazing career. Now he’s got his injury problems.
“The manager that he didn’t get on with, Zinedine Zidane, is gone and the new manager is in there. He’ll get a chance to show what he can do there. It makes sense for him to stay at Real Madrid, for me.”
Bale has won 16 trophies during his time with Real Madrid, including four Champions League trophies and two La Liga titles.
The 32-year-old played 237 times across both spells with Tottenham but did not win a trophy with the Lilywhites.
