Agbonlahor shreds Liverpool amid Jordan Henderson claim - 'needs serious help'
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Liverpool should have followed Man United in the January window by adding a central midfielder on loan.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted current options Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara, and Fabinho are in need of “serious help”.
Liverpool’s only January signing was forward Cody Gakpo – with Jurgen Klopp’s side paying PSV Eindhoven a reported initial fee of £37million.
However, fans and pundits alike identified central midfield as the most pressing area in need of reinforcement going into the winter window.
Man United completed the loan signing of Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer on a day’s notice following a serious injury to Christian Eriksen.
Liverpool sit ninth in the Premier League after 19 games and are 10 points adrift of a Champions League place.

The Reds are currently struggling with a number of key injuries, with Virgil van Dijk, Luis Diaz, Ibrahima Konate, and Diogo Jota among those not available for selection.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Their January business was very odd.
“Liverpool needed a centre-midfielder. Gakpo could be a good player, but he looks like someone who needs that time to bed in.
“I just don’t understand why they haven’t got someone in. Even if it was a loan.
“They got Arthur Melo in the summer, but that hasn’t worked out.
“It’s very strange that they didn’t look to get someone in because the likes of Henderson, Thiago, and Fabinho need serious help.”
