Pundit makes Koch prediction as intriguing Leeds image emerges
Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Robin Koch to rediscover his best form at Leeds United once he returns from injury.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker also suggested playing out of position has not helped Koch recently.
The Germany international started the Whites’ opening day hammering by Manchester United in midfield.
He has not featured for Marcelo Bielsa’s side since and was spotted by Twitter user @u_ahmed11 on 23 August jetting back to his homeland.
The Argentine revealed on 22 August, via the club’s website, that Koch has a “pain in his pubis” and was therefore unavailable for their draw with Everton.
The game at Old Trafford was only the 25-year-old’s third start since he suffered a serious knee injury last December.
Before that, he had established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet and started the first 11 games of last season.
And Agbonlahor has backed him to return to his previous form.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “He’s been playing out of position as well, you have to respect that.
“But I’m sure once he gets a run of games, injury free, he can show why he plays for his national team.
“You’ve got to be a decent player to get in the Germany team.”

Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk have started Leeds’ first two Premier League games of the season at the heart of Bielsa’s defence.
Diego Llorente made his first start of the season in the Whites’ win over Crewe Alexandra in the Carabao Cup yesterday (24 August).
In other news, a clear sign that a new Leeds United signing is all but done after a fee is agreed has been spotted.
