Agbonlahor shreds ‘embarrassing’ Sean Dyche after Everton latest

Gabby Agbonlahor believes Sean Dyche “got it all wrong” for Everton during the Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool last week.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists the Toffees showed their true colours in the 2-0 defeat at Anfield.

Dyche made a brilliant start to his Everton tenure by beating league leaders Arsenal at the start of the month but followed it up with a loss to arch-rivals Liverpool last Monday (13 February).

Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo found the back of the net for the Reds to extend Everton’s dire record at Anfield – the Toffees last won there in 1999.

Everton managed just one shot on target throughout the 90 minutes, with both Ellis Simms and Neal Mupay struggling to make an impact going forward.

Agbonlahor slammed Dyche for his tactical decisions, and labelled Everton’s performance “embarrassing”.

Everton showed their true colours,” he told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury.

The Arsenal win was a one-off, but everyone was a million miles off the pace against Liverpool.

Tarkowski was rubbish, Coady wasn’t good enough.

Simms wasn’t supported enough by McNeil, especially when Demarai Gray was on the bench who could add pace against Trent Alexander-Arnold.

“Dyche got it all wrong with his formation and Everton showed nothing.

They performed like a team who knew they were beaten before a ball was kicked.

It was an embarrassing and toothless performance from Everton and Dyche.
