Agbonlahor: Tottenham told to accept ‘£90m’ Harry Kane offer by Monday night

Harry Kane’s uncertain situation at Tottenham will cost the north London going into start of the season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor believes that Spurs could regret not having ended the Kane transfer saga earlier in the window.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (25 July) that the 29-year-old will be sold this summer if he doesn’t sign a new contract with Spurs.

Spurs have returned to London following the end of their pre-season tour and are heading straight into sit-down negotiations Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and the technical director Marco Neppe.

The pair have not travelled on Bayern’s pre-season tour of Asia so that they can try to finalise a deal for Kane with Levy, who is increasingly willing to cash in on the club talisman rather than lose him for nothing next year.

With a potential move on the cards, Agbonlahor believes that a deal needs to be agreed sooner rather than later.

“This deal should’ve been done before the start of August,” he told Football Insider.

“The new manager will need a replacement, because if they’re letting this drag now and in five days it will be a week until the season starts.

“All pre-season would have been done with Kane, and if he leaves they will start from zero which will cause unrest amongst the Spurs fanbase.

“Spurs should demand £90million and if it is not paid by Bayern by (1 August), then they should tell them a deal is not happening, as a deadline must be set.”
