Agbonlahor: Trezeguet first in line for Aston Villa axe amid Grealish latest
Trezeguet has will find himself on the Aston Villa bench when Jack Grealish returns from injury, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed the Egyptian was not creative enough and always looked for the safe pass.
The 26-year-old has started Villa’s last two Premier League games as they continue to struggle in the absence of Grealish.
Villa have won just once in their last six games without their captain and have scored just three goals.
Against Newcastle United on Friday night Trezeguet lost possession 10 times and won less than half of his duels (six of 13), according to sofascore.
Dean Smith told Sky Sports last week Grealish could return against Tottenham this weekend.

And Agbonlahor has claimed Trezeguet will be the one who misses out if the England international returns.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “You have to give Anwar El Ghazi credit because he’s scored a decent amount of goals this season when he’s played. He looks like he tries to create things.
“The likes of Trezeguet need to step up. Bertrand Traore has got his goals and assists as well. Trezeguet hasn’t scored in a long time and hasn’t got an assist in a long time. He’s got to do more when he’s on the pitch. He was disappointing against Newcastle.
“Jack Grealish is out. If you don’t take your chance when he’s out, certain players will be back on the bench.
“I’d like to see more from Trezeguet going forward, a bit more creativity.
“El Ghazi and Traore have done well. Traore went off with his injury but he can be a threat. El Ghazi came on and he was running at people he was trying to make things happen.
“Other players are making the easy pass. Players like Trezeguet need to do more when they’re given a chance.”
