Tottenham have an incredible opportunity to show who is the number one team in north London, both in terms of league position and ability to attract players by signing Arsenal target Andriy Lunin.
According to a report in The Sun, the Gunners are eyeing a swoop for the 6ft 3in colossus along with Leicester City, Liverpool and Manchester City who all want the Zorya Luhansk starlet.
And the player’s agent admitted there has been interest in his client.
But with Hugo Lloris currently occupying the number one jersey at the Lillywhites, it doesn’t leave much room for a new arrival to be guaranteed a place in the first-team.
It hasn’t been the French international’s best season for the club and Spurs could do with a quality backup option for the 31-year-old.
And with current number two, Michel Vorm out of contract in the summer it adds to the need for a new second in command.
Lunin has already made the Ukrainian full national team with one full international cap, having risen through the youth system.
The 19-year-old was exceptional in the Europa League for Zorya Luhansk’s escapades in the competition this season, where his performances for the Ukrainian side led to him being on the verge of a switch to Real Sociedad.
Lunin is going to be a big name in the game and Spurs can show they are not only able to compete for the stars of tomorrow but also show Arsenal who has taken the mantle in North London.
