Alan Pardew believes that Liverpool are in the same bracket as Tottenham this season.

Crystal Palace manager Pardew was left disappointed on Saturday after his team slipped to a 4-2 home defeat against Liverpool.

The Merseyside club continued their impressive start to the season and are only behind league leaders Manchester City on goal difference.

Emre Can, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino scored the goals for the Reds as their attacking style was once again present.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have now scored 24 goals in their opening 10 league games and are regarded as serious title contenders.

Pardew claims he was impressed by Liverpool and considers them to be on the same level as Spurs.

“It’s very difficult to play against them. The speed, the runners, they’re coming from every angle,” Pardew said, as quoted by the Echo. “They are as good as anyone we’ve played this year. I’d put them in the same level as Spurs and Spurs were terrific.”

Spurs are currently the only unbeaten side in the division and are three points off the top of the table, with three consecutive draws in the league halting their progress.

The north London club play an attacking style under manager Mauricio Pochettino and have drawn comparison to Klopp’s methods.

Liverpool earned a 1-1 away draw in the league meeting in August, before beating them last week in the EFL Cup with both teams fielding youngsters and fringe players.
