Alan Shearer swipes at Man United big name who’s ‘no more than a good player’
Ruben Amorim needs to get more out of one player if Man United are to continuing climbing the Premier League table.
Man United rescued a 2-2 draw at Tottenham thanks to an injury time Matthijs de Ligt header after Richarlison thought he had given the north London club all three points.
Amorim’s side are on a five match unbeaten run in the Premier League, with the Red Devils up to seventh in the table.
Man United failed to qualify for European football last season under Amorim, so the target will be to get the club back into the top four.

Benjaim Sesko ‘must do better’ says Alan Shearer
One of Amorim’s biggest signings in the summer transfer window was Man United’s purchase of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
Whilst Man United’s capture of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford looks to be paying off, Alan Shearer as per the Daily Mail [12 November], believes Sesko still needs to prove himself.
“One player that must do better is Benjamin Sesko,” Shearer said.
“I guess, after the 70-odd million pound they paid for him. That was a lot of money, it was too much, but that’s the market.

“He’s had a tough start. I don’t expect huge things from him though, no.
“I think he’s a good player, not sure he’s any more than that. I guess he came on at the weekend and had two really good chances, should have put at least one of them away. It’s been a tough start for him with the money that they’ve paid.”

Shearer predicts Man United finish
Man United finished 15th in the Premier League last season, and Shearer can see the Red Devils improving on that this time around.
However, the former Newcastle striker does not believe Amorim’s side will make the top four.
“The draw at the weekend [vs Spurs] for Man United is an improvement, yeah,” Shearer firstly acknowledged.
“They’re far from the finished article. I still think there’s a lot of work to be done, and I don’t expect them to finish in the top six.
“I would think somewhere around 6th, 7th, 8th, as I said, for Man United, so that is improvement.
“They were miles off it last season, they were terrible, so for them to finish there and then if they were to finish 6th, 7th, 8th, then yeah, that’s improvement. But there’s still a lot of work to be done.”
