By Amir Mir
Alan Shearer has lauded the Tottenham squad and hailed the trio of Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane.
The former Newcastle striker believes the three men above are the best players in their respective positions in the Premier League.
France international Lloris is regarded as one of the best sweeper keepers in the world as he is matched up against the likes of David de Gea and Thibaut Courtois in England’s top tier.
Centre-back Alderweireld has been a key figure as to why Spurs are on course to record the best defensive record for the second consecutive season.
Up top, striker Kane has scored 19 league goals in 24 league matches despite suffering a number of injuries this term.

However, it is the overall starting XI that Shearer was amazed by as he offered his thoughts on the team.
“They have got the core of a very, very good squad,” Shearer told Coral. “They have got one of it not the best goalkeeper in the league. They have got the best defender in the league in Toby Alderweireld.
“One of the most sought after youngsters in world football in Dele Alli. Two very strong midfielders in Wanyama and Dembele.
“Of course, they have got one of, if not the best centre-forward in Harry Kane in the league.”
The highly-rated Tottenham team is managed by Mauricio Pochettino, who has received huge praise for the manner in which he has coached these players.
Furthermore, his recruitment has also received plaudits because the likes of Alderweireld, Victor Wayama and Dele Alli to name a few, have all been purchased during his tenure.
England international Alli has perhaps been the most impressive purchase because he joined the club from League One outfit MK Dons for a fee of £5million in 2015.
He has since gone on to win back-to-back PFA Young Player of the Year awards and represent his country on a number of occasions.
In other Tottenham news, Shearer has also offered his thoughts on the Arsenal clash this Sunday.
