Shearer: This senior Tottenham player is best in his position in Premier League

The Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer Alan Shearer believes that Hugo Lloris deserves a lot of credit for what Tottenham have achieved this season.
The 30-year-old French goalkeeper played the full 90 minutes in Tottenham’s last match of the Premier League season against Hull City despite being a doubt before the game.
Lloris was unable to keep a clean sheet and he missed out on the chance to share the Premier League Golden Glove award with Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois who achieved 16 shutouts this season.
The Spurs skipper has been outstanding for the club this season, managing to keep 15 clean sheets in the Premier League- his highest amount since arriving at White Hart Lane in 2012.
Writing in his blog on the official Coral website, Shearer praised Lloris’ performances this campaign and he believes that he’s currently the best goalkeeper in the league.

“For me the best ‘keepers in the Premier League this season have been Hugo Lloris and David de Gea,” he said.
“It is Lloris who edges it though, as he has been excellent along with his back four for Spurs and that is one of the reasons they have finished so high.
“Spurs have conceded fewer goals than any other side in the league this season so a lot of credit has to go the French ‘keeper.”
Lloris has become a real leader at the club since becoming Tottenham’s first choice goalkeeper at the start of the 2012/13 campaign.
The Frenchman hasn’t won a single domestic league throughout his playing career but the foundations are there for Spurs to continue pushing for the Premier League title next season.
Tottenham finished in second place recording 86 points but they still finished seven points behind champions Chelsea.
