Alan Shearer responds to Milos Kerkez transfer news at Liverpool
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has reacted to the latest update on Milos Kerkez’s future amid strong links with a move to Liverpool.
The 21-year-old experienced a fine season at the Vitality Stadium, notching two goals and five assists in 41 appearances, becoming heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool are set to accept an offer for Andy Robertson, who appears to be nearing the end of his career on Merseyside, which could leave Arne Slot without a left-back.
The Scotland international has racked up 342 appearances during his time with the Reds, and he will not be easy to replace, but Slot may have already found a successor for the full-back spot.
Fabrizio Romano has dropped an exciting update on the Reds’ move for one of Bournemouth’s biggest stars, with a deal for Florian Wirtz already completed.

Milos Kerkez set to join Liverpool
Taking to Instagram (20 June), Romano wrote: “HERE WE GO! Liverpool agree a deal to sign Milos Kerkez as new left-back from Bournemouth. Transfer fee worth £40m for Kerkez.
“He said yes to Liverpool project two months ago, as revealed in May. Milos will fly to Liverpool on Tuesday next week. Deal never in doubt,” gaining a like from Newcastle United legend Shearer.
Arne Slot continues squad rebuild at Anfield
Football Insider verdict
Slot lifted the Premier League title during his first season in England, but after being knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup at early stages, supporters were left wanting much more.
The Dutchman achieved a lot with the current squad, which was built single-handedly by Jurgen Klopp over the last few seasons, but he needs to rebuild the team to fit his playing style.
Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, and Ryan Gravenberch are likely to have the lineup built around them, but many other stars face uncertain futures at Anfield.

Dan Plumley told Liverpool News 247 (20 June) that Robertson’s potential move to Atletico Madrid could be PSR-related, with several other stars being linked with exits this summer.
Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Joe Gomez, and Ibrahima Konate could all follow Trent Alexander-Arnold out the exit doors, with some of them possibly also ending up in La Liga ahead of next season.
Football Insider understands that Liverpool will try everything to sell Nunez to the Saudi Pro League, and if PSR concerns are emerging on Merseyside, his exit will certainly help with that.
Slot has plenty of rebuilding to do before the new campaign kicks off. The Reds had a lot of success last season, but the supporters will be expecting even more after the summer.
