Alan Shearer slams £30m Everton star for role he played in Crystal Palace goal
Alan Shearer believes an Everton star could have done more to deny Crystal Palace their winning goal against the Toffees.
Everton beat Crystal Palace 2-1 thanks to a late Iliman Ndiaye penalty and a 93rd minute Jack Grealish strike, cancelling out a first half Daniel Munoz goal, which ended the Eagles’ unbeaten start to the season.
For Everton the win puts an end to their three game winless streak, lifting them up to seventh and just one point below Crystal Palace.
Defeats means Crystal Palace remain fifth and four points behind league leaders Arsenal after their win over West Ham.

Jordan Pickford blamed for Daniel Munoz goal
Speaking to the Premier League [5 October], Newcastle legend Shearer believes Pickford’s positioning was at fault for Munoz’s low strike which opened the scoring in the contest.
“It’s a brilliant finish by Munoz,” Shearer said.
“You can just seem him coming in from the right, a good weight of pass from Sarr and a nice finish.
“However, the angle that Jordan Pickford comes out at makes it an easier finish for him.
“It’s a clever finish, and it is no surprise that they are leading given the confidence Palace have got and the run they are on.”
Pickford joined Everton for £30million from Sunderland in 2017 and has established himself as England‘s number one since moving to Merseyside.

Pickford in contract talks over new Everton deal
Everton are in contract talks with Pickford, with his deal set to expire in 2027, to ensure he remains at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Pickford is one of the Premier league’s finest shot stoppers, and has had a good start to the season in-between the sticks.

The 31-year-old may have been able to have done better to keep out Munoz’s goal, and he will have been relived when Ndiaye scored the penalty.
Pickford though was made to work against Crystal Palace, with the Eagles registering eight shots on target throughout the match, and having four big chances.
