Alejandro Garnacho calls for Manuel Ugarte to ‘come back’ in Man United message

Alejandro Garnacho had a light-hearted message for his Manchester United teammate Manuel Ugarte following the international break.

Man United are gearing up to return to action on Tuesday (1 April), facing a tough challenge against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Some players, including Manuel Ugarte, have been away on international duty, but his Uruguay side failed to win any of their games. Ugarte featured in a 0-0 draw against Bolivia after serving a suspension in their 1-0 loss to Argentina.

Ugarte has earned the backing from Man United fans this season, staking his claim for a regular first-team spot since the arrival of former manager Ruben Amorim.

Despite Uruguay’s disappointing results, he posted an update during the international break, which caught the attention of Garnacho, who responded with a humorous message.

Man United face decision over Alejandro Garnacho amid exit speculation

Ugarte recently posted a series of photos on Instagram from his international break, showcasing training sessions and highlights of his performances.

However, it was a playful comment from his teammate Garnacho that caught attention. He jokingly wrote, “Come on brother, come back, I already need the morning mates” referring to their close friendship off the pitch.

Despite this light-hearted camaraderie, Garnacho has been linked to leaving Man United following his inconsistent performances this season.

After a long dry spell, he only recently ended a 24-game goal drought, scoring just four Premier League goals this season.

Man United fans have expressed frustration with Garnacho, not only for his on-pitch displays but also for off-field actions that have sparked debate.

While still featuring regularly under manager Ruben Amorim, it remains uncertain whether Garnacho will be part of United’s long-term plans.

Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford could follow Garnacho out of Man United amid PSR concerns

The club is facing financial challenges, and Man United are at risk of breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

With top-flight clubs only permitted to make a £105 million loss over a rolling three-year period, the club has been forced to make some difficult financial decisions, making several cost-cutting moves despite the surrounding controversy.

Additionally, the sale of academy products, which represent a pure profit on the balance sheet, has been considered as a way to balance the books. Aston Villa want to sign Marcus Rashford permanently, which could help United’s financial situation.

Furthermore, Kobbie Mainoo has been linked with a move to Chelsea. These moves, alongside the uncertain future of Garnacho, could contribute to the reshaping of the squad under Amorim’s plans for the future.
