‘Alejandro Garnacho exit set to be sealed as Man United step up pursuit of £50m replacement’

Alejandro Garnacho looks likely to leave Manchester United this summer, with the Red Devils already in hot pursuit of his replacement.

The Argentinian scored six goals and picked up three assists for Ruben Amorim’s side, in 36 Premier League appearances this season.

However, after Man United’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final, the 20-year-old angered the Portuguese manager with his reaction.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Garnacho could leave United this summer, after he publicly criticised Amorim for leaving him out of the starting lineup against Spurs.

Garnacho replacement lined up

Man United have already agreed a deal to purchase Matheus Cunha, but that is expected to be just the first of a number of big signings this summer.

According to talkSPORT (26 May), the Red Devils are in talks with Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who is valued around the £50million mark.

The winger scored 20 Premier League goals this season, as well as picking up seven assists as he featured in every single game for the Bees.

Mbeumo has also attracted interest from Newcastle, meaning that Amorim’s side are by no means guaranteed to bring the Cameroon international to Old Trafford.

Football Insider Verdict

If Garnacho’s future wasn’t already sealed by his off-field antics after the Europa League final, it definitely is now as United pursue their second attacking signing of the summer.

The 20-year-old would have already been battling with Cunha for a place in the starting lineup next season, but with Mbeumo now a possible incoming as well, Garnacho looks certain to move on.

There may be a number of other names following the Argentine out of the Old Trafford door, with Bruno Fernandes among six starters who could leave Man United this summer.

The Red Devils recorded their worst-ever Premier League finish this season, ending the campaign in 15th, so they are in desperate need of a reset.

By letting bad influences like Garnacho leave, and bringing in a fresh crop of signings, Amorim will have the chance to kickstart his tenure in the United dugout, and maybe even save his job.
