Alejandro Garnacho hits back at critics in six-word Man United message
Alejandro Garnacho has swiped at his critics by insisting he will keep “doing my things” ahead of Man United’s Premier League clash with strugglers Everton on Sunday (December 1).
The last time Garnacho, 20, faced Sean Dyche’s side, he scored arguably one of the best goals the Premier League has ever seen.
Diogo Dalot delivered a pinpoint cross, which the winger met with a stunning bicycle kick, powering the ball past Jordan Pickford in the Everton goal.
The goal has earned Garnacho a nomination for the 2024 Puskas Award, which celebrates the best goals scored between 21 August 2023 and 10 August 2024.
Everton’s visit marks Ruben Amorim’s first Premier League game as the new manager at Old Trafford after securing a nervy 3-2 Europa League victory over Bodo/Glimt in midweek.
Alejandro Garnacho making an impression at Man United
Garnacho starred in the win over the Norwegian side, opening the scoring after just 51 seconds thanks to a defensive mishap from the visitors.
The Argentina international started eight games of United’s 14 across all competitions for Erik ten Hag before the Dutchman’s dismissal at the end of October, providing seven goal contributions.
It was a similar story under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, starting three of his four games at the helm, scoring two goals, and providing one assist, all of which came against the former striker’s new club, Leicester.
It’s earlier days for Amorim, but he seems to like Garnacho despite not playing traditional wingers in his 3-4-3 system, giving him 176 minutes across his first two games.
With the Portuguese revolution well underway at Old Trafford, Garnacho took to Instagram to let the fans know, “I will keep doing my things.”

Their 1-1 draw with Ipswich kept Amorim’s side in the bottom half, but a win over Everton could see them inch closer to the European spots, with just three points separating them in 12th and Tottenham in sixth.
United have nine games in December alone, including Premier League fixtures against Man City and Arsenal.
