Alejandro Garnacho reacts to Marcus Rashford’s latest message to Aston Villa fans
Aston Villa advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with Marcus Rashford sending a message to the fans after the match.
Aston Villa sealed their spot in the last eight in emphatic fashion, cruising to a 3-0 second-leg victory over Club Brugge to wrap up a dominant 6-1 aggregate win.
Marco Asensio continued his outstanding form under Unai Emery, netting his third brace in just a few weeks to help fire Villa through.
Rashford, starting on the left as he has done regularly since his move, played a key role by setting up his fellow loanee for one of his goals.
After the match, the England international shared a post that caught the attention of several of his former Man United teammates.
Alejandro Garnacho responds as Marcus Rashford enjoys Aston Villa loan spell
Rashford shared a simple yet impactful message after Aston Villa’s Champions League victory, posting: “Qualified” followed by a green tick emoji.
His post drew plenty of attention from current teammates but also his former United teammates, with Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee among those showing their appreciation by liking the post.
Aston Villa fans have urged the club to sign Rashford permanently, impressed by his contributions since arriving in January.
While he is yet to find the net for his new club, he has provided four assists in nine appearances—all for Asensio, with whom he has built an instant attacking partnership.
Meanwhile, Garnacho was linked with a move away from Man United in January, with Chelsea showing interest in the Argentine, but no deal materialised as both clubs opted to loan out other attacking players instead.

Aston Villa set sights on permanent Marcus Rashford transfer
Rashford made his desire to leave United clear in the January window, and his decision has so far paid off with strong performances at Villa Park.
His impressive form has caught the attention of the club’s hierarchy, as Mick Brown, who worked as a scout at both Villa and Manchester United, exclusively told Football Insider that Aston Villa are trying to make Rashford’s loan move permanent.
While Garnacho continues to face criticism from sections of the United fanbase, the Englishman has enjoyed a resurgence under Emery.
Villa’s next challenge in the Champions League will be a blockbuster tie against PSG, who have already eliminated English opposition in Liverpool.
