Alejandro Garnacho responds as Man United agree new signing

Man United forward Alejandro Garnacho was active on social media sharing a reaction as the club confirmed a new signing.

The winger endured a difficult campaign at Old Trafford, with his future at the club now looking increasingly uncertain.

Reports suggest Garnacho clashed with manager Ruben Amorim towards the end of the season, with Amorim allegedly telling the player: “You better pray that you can find a club to sign you” after their fallout.

Amid the tension, Football Insider revealed on 22 June that Garnacho remains keen to stay in the Premier League and has informed his agent of his preference as the transfer window progresses.

While speculation continues over his own future, the Argentine was quick to react to United’s latest addition, showing he’s still keeping an eye on the club’s activity in the transfer market.

Man United confirm Diego Leon signing

Man United have confirmed their second summer signing after completing a deal for highly-rated Paraguayan youngster Diego Leon.

The club’s official Instagram account posted: “We are delighted to announce the signing of defender Diego Leon, subject to registration. Welcome to United!”

Garnacho was quick to react to the announcement, liking the post along with fellow United stars Leny Yoro and Bruno Fernandes.

The 18-year-old defender arrives in England after initially signing during the winter transfer window. However, due to his age, the move could only be officially completed this summer.

Leon graduated from the Cerro Porteno academy in July 2024 and quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice left-back, scoring four goals in 33 appearances — form that caught the attention of United scouts.

It remains to be seen whether he will be integrated into Amorim’s first-team squad immediately or sent out on loan, but for now, he adds further depth and competition in the left-back position, alongside Patrick Dorgu and Luke Shaw.

While Garnacho was among those reacting to the new arrival, his own future at Old Trafford is far from settled.

Former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Tottenham have now joined the growing list of clubs interested in signing Garnacho this summer.

The North London side are expected to face stiff competition, with Chelsea and Napoli both previously expressing interest in the 20-year-old.

This comes after Football Insider reported Man United are hoping to spark a bidding war for Garnacho, with an asking price believed to start at £50million for interested clubs.
