Alejandro Garnacho sends ‘crazy’ message to Man United fans after they destroy him

Alejandro Garnacho responded to Man United fans on social media despite their criticism of his performance against Man City.

Man United were held to a goalless draw in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford, though the game wasn’t short of controversy.

Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett exclusively told Football Insider that Garnacho should have been awarded a penalty after Ruben Dias’ late challenge, which was incorrectly judged to have occurred outside the box.

Despite the debate surrounding the incident, Garnacho came under fire from the Man United fanbase after another underwhelming performance, with some supporters even calling for the youngster to be sold.

Still, the Argentine winger remained defiant and posted a message to fans after the match, standing firm despite the scrutiny.

Man United could cut losses on Alejandro Garnacho amid ongoing exit speculation

The winger posted to his Instagram story after the Manchester derby, praising supporters and saying: “Tough battle in the derby. Crazy atmosphere at OT. Full focus on Europe on Thursday.”

Despite his attempt to reconnect with fans, the criticism hasn’t eased. Garnacho has faced scrutiny throughout the season for inconsistent performances, managing just four Premier League goals.

Man United supporters are convinced that Garnacho is on his way out after reports emerged that he has put his house up for sale – a move many believe hints at a summer exit.

It’s been a challenging campaign for the 20-year-old, who has frequently been shifted across positions and struggled to find rhythm, especially after his bust-up with manager Ruben Amorim earlier in the season.

Although he’s since worked his way back into the starting XI, sections of the fanbase remain frustrated and calls for the club to sell him have grown louder.

Man United could offer Garnacho in Victor Osimhen swap deal

There have been growing suggestions that Man United could include Garnacho in a swap deal involving Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with both clubs showing long-standing interest in the other’s players.

Amorim is keen to bolster his attacking options next season, while Napoli had a bid for Garnacho turned down in January. A player-plus-cash deal could prove tempting for all parties involved.

For now, though, Amorim will be hoping Garnacho can rediscover his form during the final stretch of the season, particularly in Europe as United prepare to face Lyon on 10 April in the Europa League.
