Alessandro Bastoni horrific, Nico Barella impressive – Inter ratings v PSG
Inter were utterly embarrassed in the Champions League final losing 5-0 to an incredible PSG side.
The Nerazzurri were thoroughly outclassed in their quest for a first Champions League crown since Jose Mourinho‘s famous treble-winning side in 2010.
Seven of their starters began the 2023 final loss against Man City, suffering the same fate two years later in the Allianz Arena.
PSG opened the scoring in the 12th minute through former Inter man Achraf Hakimi, before Desire Doue’s found the back of the net on either side of half-time.
From there, the Parisians never looked back, creating chance after chance with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu adding the finishing touches in the second half, before referee István Kovács finally put the Italians out of their misery with the full-time whistle.

Inter destroyed 5-0 in Champions League final
Yann Sommer – 3
Awful. The Swiss shot-stopper has built a career on thriving on the biggest stages, but PSG’s attack was far too potent for the former Bayern Munich man.
Benjamin Pavard – 4
Spared the miserable night his other defensive teammates endured when Simone Inzaghi substituted him in the 54th minute.
Francesco Acerbi – 3
The hero of the semi-final win over Barcelona could not keep track of the fluid and interchanging attacking play from PSG’s front three.
Alessandro Bastoni – 1
A mess. Liverpool are interested in signing Bastoni this summer, but against the Parisians the Italian centre-back was a walking calamity.

Denzel Dumfries subdued by PSG attack
Denzel Dumfries – 5
Battler. Dumfries put in a stunning goal-scoring display against Barcelona, but had few opportunities to go forward against PSG.
Nico Barella – 7 – Player of the Match
Quality. Man City have been keeping an eye on Barella, and whilst those around him capitulated, the Italian kept on driving his team forward, creating chances that would invariably be wasted.
Hakan Calhanoglu – 6
Decent. Calhanoglu was far from the problem for his side, but with his teammates offering little, there was only so much the Turkish midfielder could do from the centre of the park.
Henrik Mkhitaryan – 3
Overran. The Armenian completed nine passes in an hour for the Italian giants. Simply not good enough in a Champions League final.
Federico Dimarco – 2
Nightmare. The rampaging Italian left wing-back is no stranger to taking control of a game by himself, but his attacking output was nullified by the need to attempt to defend Hakimi. Caught playing all of PSG’s attackers onside for the opener, whilst the ball deflected off him for Paris’ second.

Marcus Thuram struggles for Simone Inzaghi
Marcus Thuram – 4
Thuram is a target for Man United, but the Frenchman should have scored with a header, but he glanced over. From there, there was little for the former Borussia Monchengladbach striker to work with.
Lautaro Martinez – 3
Absent. Arsenal are plotting a move for Martinez, but on tonight’s showing, they should save their money and look elsewhere.
Substitutes
Yann Aurel Bisseck (on for Pavard 54′ off for Darmian 62′) – N/A
Only on the pitch for eight minutes as a substitute before being forced off with an injury.
Nicola Zalewski (on for Federico Dimarco 54′) – 6
Fared better than his Italian compatriot, and when given the ball, the 23-year-old was direct and purposeful with it.
Carlos Augusto (on for Mkhitaryan 62′) – 5
The Brazilian saw little of the ball as PSG made the biggest final of the year look like a training session.
Matteo Darmian (on for Bisseck 62′) – 6
A starter two years ago against City, the former Man United man did what was needed of him.
Kristjan Asllani (on for Calhanoglu 70′) – 5
Barely touched the ball as PSG knocked it around with ease.
