It comes after Antonio Conte’s side identified the Italy international as their number one target for their left centre-back role.

However, according to the the Standard‘s Dan Kilpatrick (30 May), Bastoni is reluctant to leave Inter Milan this summer.

He is valued at over £50million by the the Italian club.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if Conte could persuade Bastoni to make the switch, Robinson said: “If Spurs have any chance of persuading him it is now.

“They have Conte, Fabio Paratici, Champions League football, the training facilities and the stadium. There shouldn’t need to be too much persuading.

“I’m sure Conte’s pre-existing relationship can help him change his mind.

“Now is the best time in a number of years to join Tottenham. It is really exciting times. I think they can still get that one done.”
