Alex Iwobi reacts to Fulham ace Raul Jimenez ahead of crucial Bournemouth clash

Alex Iwobi reacted to Fulham teammate Raul Jimenez on social media ahead of their Monday night clash with Bournemouth.

Fulham shocked Liverpool 3-2 in their previous Premier League match and will need to maintain their momentum against the Cherries.

Both sides are currently scrapping for a place in Europe next season, with the Whites currently holding the upper hand, sitting three points and two places above the Cherries.

However, whilst Fulham manager Marco Silva seems unperturbed with being linked to the Tottenham job, Andoni Iraola, another front-runner for the job this summer, has struggled to keep his side firing.

The Cherries are on a six-game winless run in the Premier League, and a loss against the Cottagers could be a death blow to their European goals.

Raul Jimenez shares training ground update with Fulham fans

Prior to the match against Bournemouth, Jimenez posted an image of himself to Instagram captioned with a bullseye and a football emoji.

The post was then liked by Iwobi, showing support for the former Wolves striker.

The Mexican is Fulham’s top scorer this season but was forced to settle for a place on the bench in the win over Liverpool, with Rodrigo Muniz favoured instead.

Fulham’s summer-signings struggling to find form

Football Insider Verdict

Midway through the season, Andreas Pereira found himself on the side-lines at Fulham, following an ill-advised interview in which the Brazilian admitted he had been looking forward to a move to Marseille in the summer.

That transfer fell through, but the former Man United man’s comments left a bitter taste in the mouth of large portions of the West London club’s fanbase, and he was dropped by his manager.

Since then, Pereira has earned his place back in Silva’s side and is in fine form for Fulham, the same cannot be said, however, for summer signings Emile Smith Rowe and Joachim Anderson.

The pair were brought in to raise the quality at Craven Cottage, and whilst both have had their moments, neither are impressing right now, with the former Arsenal attacking-midfielder benched due to Pereira’s good form.

With Fulham now facing a brutally difficult set of fixtures in their quest to qualify for Europe for the first time since the 2011/12 season, Silva will be desperate to see his two stars rediscover the form that convinced the club to spend a combined £53million on them. [transfermarkt]
