Alexander-Arnold and Justin Kluivert respond to Dean Huijsen’s heartfelt message

Former Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen shared an heartfelt message on social media after Real Madrid’s recent win, prompting responses from both current and former teammates.

Bournemouth enjoyed a remarkable 2024/25 campaign, pushing for European qualification and securing their highest-ever Premier League points total.

However, that success has come at a price, with several key players already heading for the exit.

Huijsen sealed a move to Real Madrid earlier this month, while his defensive partner Milos Kerkez has joined Liverpool. Meanwhile, Illia Zabarnyi is attracting strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Huijsen made the switch to Madrid in time for the Club World Cup and has since shown his appreciation for the support he has received since starting life with Los Blancos during the Club World Cup.

Huijsen has settled seamlessly into Xabi Alonso’s side, starting all three matches for Los Blancos.

Following Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over RB Salzburg, the Spaniard shared a message for supporters on Instagram and wrote: “Happy for the victory and the round pass. Thank you all for your support. Hala Madrid!”

The post attracted plenty of reactions, with Jude Bellingham commenting with a fire emoji and Trent Alexander-Arnold — who also signed for Real Madrid before the Club World Cup deadline — replying with a peace sign emoji.

Huijsen’s former Bournemouth teammates also showed their support, with Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson all liking the post.

Alonso’s side topped Group H, finishing two points clear of Al Hilal, and will now face Juventus on 1 July in the round of 16.

Justin Kluivert could be next in Bournemouth exodus

While Huijsen and Kerkez have already sealed their moves away from Bournemouth, the summer departures are likely to continue.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown revealed that Kluivert is keen on joining Bayer Leverkusen this summer after the German side want him to replace Florian Wirtz.

He added that Kluivert has concerns over the number of players leaving the Vitality Stadium, with the lure of Champions League football also influencing his thinking.

Despite Bournemouth’s impressive season, more high-profile exits could follow — but it remains to be seen whether Kluivert will push to make the move to Germany.
