Alexander Isak: Newcastle stance revealed after swap deal offer

Newcastle United are confident of keeping Alexander Isak beyond the summer transfer window despite interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham sources have told Football Insider.

Chelsea approached Newcastle and offered players in exchange for the 24-year-old before the June 30th accounting deadline but were quickly rebuffed.

Isak is seen as ‘untouchable’ by the club, and Eddie Howe and his coaching staff now fully expect the Sweden international to be wearing the black-and-white jersey beyond September 1st.

Following the the £35m sale of Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest and the £33m departure of Yankuba Minteh to Brighton, Newcastle United will no longer be forced to sell their star man.

Only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer scored more Premier League goals than Isak last season. The Swede ended the campaign with 21 goals to his name.
