Alexis Mac Allister: Significant Liverpool update today

Liverpool have been handed a positive injury update as Argentina international Alexis Mac Allister is expected to be available this weekend.

The 25-year-old came off injured in the 79th minute of Argentina’s 3-0 win against Chile on 6 September.

With Lionel Scaloni having claimed Mac Allister has been “overloaded” lately, there was concern from a Liverpool perspective about his fitness.

However, sources have told Football Insider that his injury is not serious or worrying at this stage and there are not expected to be any long-term repercussions.

Mac Allister is expected to be fit to play this week, with Liverpool hosting Nottingham Forest on 14 September.

Tyc Sports also confirmed that he is scheduled to travel with the squad for Argentina’s next game, which is against Colombia on Tuesday (10 September).
