Alfredo Morelos is now in his last weeks at Rangers - 'I've heard whispers,' says expert
Alan Hutton has insisted Alfredo Morelos “won’t sign” a new contract at Rangers.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender claimed Morelos is “more than capable” of playing in La Liga if he moves this summer.
The 26-year-old is out of contract in the summer and could quit Ibrox for free.
The Light Blues board have made attempts to tie down the striker to a new contract but Morelos has not decided where he sees his future beyond this season.
As relayed by Sky Sports last week (16 March), Michael Beale squashed the claims that Morelos had signed a pre-contract agreement with La Liga side Sevilla.
Beale added that there are “no issues” between him and the forward and said everything is “open for discussion” at the moment.

Although a move to Sevilla is off the cards, when asked if the heights of La Liga is the level Morelos will be aiming for if he leaves Rangers, Hutton told Football Insider: “I would say that is a right good level.
“I saw the rumours and heard the whispers and it seemed a bit strange, maybe it was agents just trying to whip up a storm. Moving to La Liga, at that sort of level, would be a real good move.
“I have got a feeling that he won’t sign again for Rangers. I think his time has now come to an end and he will move on.
“It is like anybody else he will be looking to play at the highest level possible. He is more than capable of playing at that level when he is fit and ready. So it is up to him to maintain those standards that he has shown previously at Rangers.
“I think this will be the last season for him.“
