Alfredo Morelos ‘looks lost’ at Rangers as ‘professionalism’ questioned – pundit

Frank McAvennie has claimed Alfredo Morelos is no longer the “talisman” at Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said Antonio Colak is now the “main guy” for the Gers.

Morelos was on the bench in the Ibrox club’s game against Hibernian on Saturday (20 August).

He was subbed on in place of Colak for the final half an hour of the match.

Morelos was sent off just ten minutes after coming on in the 2-2 draw.

When asked if Morelos could feature in the game against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I think Antonio Colak is the main guy now.

When Morelos wasn’t playing [last season] there were people coming in who just weren’t doing it. The only one who took his place was Kemar Roofe but then he kept getting injured.

Colak seems to be a goalscorer. The fans are not too bothered about Morelos anymore. It’s strange, a couple of months ago he was the main guy, they had to get him back, he was the talisman. It didn’t take long for the fans to turn on him.

“He’s got to have a bit of professionalism. If you’re not putting it in in training you’re not going to do it in the game. You’ve got to put the training in, you can’t get away with it. People notice it and your teammates notice it as well.

It would be nice to see him back training but he looks lost at the minute.
