Alfredo Morelos may have played last game for Rangers after BBC update – Campbell

Kevin Campbell has suggested Alfredo Morelos could exit Rangers after being dropped by manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker suspects “there might be an offer on the table” for the 26-year-old.

Morelos was sent off at Hibernian on Saturday following an incident with Hibernian defender Marijan Cabraja.

The centre-forward will now serve a two-game suspension and miss games against Ross County and Queen of the South.

The Colombian is available to face PSV Eindhoven in Wednesday night’s Champions League play-off second leg.

However, as reported by the BBC (23 August), Morelos has been omitted from the travelling squad.

Van Bronckhorst said the striker is not “physically” or “mentally” ready to play.

When asked by Football Insider if Morelos may have played his last game for the Gers, Campbell said: “Possibly.

“There might already be an offer on the table. That might be why he was left out.

“In a Champions League play-off you are going to play your best players. We do not know what has gone on behind the scenes. We do not know if there has been an argument or whatever.

Rangers

“Van Bronckhorst has done a good job at Rangers but the same problems keep coming up. Under Steven Gerrard, Morelos was a hot head. He did crazy things at times. He is at it again.

“This might be punishment from the manager to in effect suspend him.”
