All games Jean-Ricner Bellegarde could miss as Wolves’ relegation fears grow

Rob Edwards’ task of saving Wolves from Premier League relegation has just been made that much more impossible after a new blow to Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

Despite signs of a fightback, Wolves lost 4-1 to Man United in their last league outing, leaving them stranded at the bottom of the table, with just two points after 15 games.

Leeds United, Burnley, and West Ham are all in the race, but the Old Gold are by far the favourites to be relegated back to the Championship for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign.

Edwards is already without Marshall Munetsi and Rodrigo Gomes, with important star Joao Gomes returning from suspension, but the injury list has just grown by a name at Molineux Stadium.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde could be sidelined for two months

Ahead of facing Arsenal on Saturday, 13 December, Edwards spoke to the press about his unavailable stars, including Bellegarde, who was forced off against the Red Devils.

In a major blow, he confirmed that the 27-year-old will not feature for the remainder of the year, potentially being ruled out for six to eight weeks with a hamstring injury.

Last season, only Jorgen Strand Larsen, Matheus Cunha, and Rayan Ait-Nouri registered more goal contributions than the Haitian international, albeit he only has one goal this term.

That goal came against Man United, and after being one of the Old Gold’s only bright sparks during the game, the injury could not have come at a worse time for the relegation-threatened side.

If the timeline is accurate, Bellegarde would return for the home clash against Chelsea on 7 February, but by then, any chance of Wolves surviving the drop could be completely over by then.

It is really the worst news that Wolves fans could have heard. Hopefully, Edwards has a plan.
