All the Crystal Palace games Eddie Nketiah could miss after big injury update

Eddie Nketiah could be set to miss the next eight Crystal Palace games after suffering a hamstring strain last time out against Tottenham.

Nketiah has impressed off the bench for Crystal Palace this season, with an added-time winner against Liverpool in September his crowning moment for the club so far.

It has taken some time for Eagles fans to warm to him since a 2024 move from Arsenal, but the one-cap England striker is now a valuable asset to Oliver Glasner, particularly in the Conference League.

He has still been behind Jean-Philippe Mateta in the pecking order for regular starts, with West Ham believed to be lining up a move for his services in the January window as a result.

A new report on an injury issue of Nketiah’s has now plunged that potential move into uncertainty, however, as he could be in the treatment room for the whole of next month.

Nketiah is set to be sidelined for six weeks, according to a new report, with a hamstring strain that he picked up in Palace’s 1-0 loss to Tottenham on Sunday currently being assessed.

Eagles boss Glasner has urged the club to make new additions to his squad in the January window, and this latest blow will only amplify their need for fresh faces in attack.

Mateta will have to be heavily relied on to carry the load in the final third, with Football Insider looking at the games that Nketiah is set to miss as a result of his new injury.

Who could West Ham turn to instead of Nketiah?

West Ham had been tracking Nketiah as a potential January arrival, but that deal now looks to be off following this new update on his fitness.

Nuno Espirito Santo desperately needs new additions to bolster his faltering frontline, with Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen believed to be on the Hammers’ radar.

Football Insider recently revealed that West Ham have also targeted Norwich’s Josh Sargent, who scored 15 goals in 32 Championship appearances last season.

West Ham have also been tipped to move for Troy Parrott after his impressive form for club and country, and so they clearly have options aside from Nketiah as they look to bring in a new forward after the turn of the year.
