Ally McCoist makes Jamie Vardy to Rangers claim: ‘Something is organised’
Jamie Vardy has played his last game for Leicester, but it is yet to be confirmed where he will be situated next season.
The Foxes legend scored on his final appearance for the club, as Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s side beat Ipswich 2-0 at the KingPower Stadium.
His farewell goal against the Tractor Boys means that the striker leaves the Midlands-based club with 200 goals in 500 appearances, over a 13-year spell.
Reportedly, leaving Leicester was not Vardy’s decision, and the club decided against offering the former England international a new contract.

Vardy’s future up in the air
Ever since Vardy announced that he was leaving Leicester, there has been rumours flying around about where he will end up next season.
The forward had a respectable Premier League campaign, managing nine goals for a dismal Foxes side, who were relegated with five games still left to play.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (19 May), former Rangers striker Ally McCoist revealed that he believes Vardy already has his future sorted, saying: “Something tells me that he (Vardy) has got something organised for next season, whether it’s America or another club.”
The pundit still clearly rates Vardy, adding: “Me and my Rangers mates were in a discussion yesterday. I would take him in two minutes at Rangers, I really, really would. But something tells me that he’s already got something lined up.”
Vardy leaves as a Leicester legend
Football Insider Verdict
Vardy leaves the club as arguably Leicester’s greatest ever player, after spearheading their attack for 13 seasons.
The striker infamously fired the Foxes to the Premier League title in 2015/16, breaking the record for consecutive games scored in during the process.
He has consistently scored goals throughout his time at the club, regardless of whether his team around him are performing well.
Position | Player | Goals |
13 | Teddy Sheringham | 146 |
14 | Jamie Vardy | 145 |
15 | Robin van Persie | 144 |
16 | Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink | 127 |
Vardy is 14th on the all-time Premier League goalscorers list, with 145 top-flight goals, putting him above the likes of Robin van Persie, Nicolas Anelka, and Dwight Yorke.
He isn’t out of place in such esteemed company either, the 38-year-old has been a tough opponent for any defender he’s come up against.
Leicester will undoubtedly miss their main man, and will need to ensure they bring in an appropriate replacement in the summer.
