Amad Diallo sends message to Kobbie Mainoo as Man United exit whispers intensify

Man United star Amad Diallo took to social media to send a message to Kobbie Mainoo after the midfielder was linked with a move away from the club.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are interested in bringing the 19-year-old to Stamford Bridge as United contend with PSR.

It’s understood Maresca’s side are keeping tabs on the young central midfielder should he be unable to agree terms on a new deal with his boyhood club, with his current deal set to end in the summer of 2027.

The Sun have since reported that German giants Bayern Munich have registered an interest in the England international.

Mainoo has struggled this season after having a break-out campaign last time out, starting 16 of his 22 games across all competitions, and failing to provide a goal contribution in his 1431 minutes of action.

The youngster came on for the last nine minutes of United’s 1-0 Premier League win over Fulham on Sunday (January 26), replacing Alejandro Garnacho, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea.

Diallo, 22, on the other hand, has been a rare bright spark for United this season, starting 22 of his 33 games across all competitions, scoring nine goals, and providing seven assists in his 2099 minutes on the field.

The Ivorian thought he had scored a second for Ruben Amorim’s side in added time against Fulham, but his goal was eventually ruled out by VAR for offside.

Diallo took to Instagram after the win over Fulham, sharing an image of himself and Mainoo celebrating his disallowed goal, captioning it: “Kobinho.”

United’s attention will be on the Europa League after their win over Fulham as they prepare for a trip to Romania to face FCSB on Thursday (January 30).

Amrorim’s side will then host Crystal Palace in their first game of February, knowing a win could see them leapfrog Brentford in 11th.
