Amadou Onana: Bayern Munich push ahead to sign Everton star – sources

Bayern Munich are extremely interested in a potential deal for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The German giants have made defensive midfield a priority as they plan transfer business for the off-season.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Onana “ticks a lot of boxes” for Bayern as they scour the market for the right solution.

Fulham’s Joao Palhinha came close to joining the Bavarian outfit last summer (2023) before the move collapsed as the transfer deadline approached.

It is believed Bayern are now targeting a younger option as they look to future-proof their side.

Onana fits the bill at 22 and has impressed onlookers since his move to the Premier League with Everton in 2022.

Bayern Munich turn attention to Everton star Onana – West Ham also keen

The German giants are aware Everton need to sell their top players to balance the books at Goodison Park – and sources say Onana is likely to be sacrificed.

Football Insider revealed in March that West Ham are once again keen on the Belgium international ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Irons tried to sign the midfielder two years ago before he joined Everton for a reported fee of just over £33million.

Onana has made 36 appearances across all competitions for Sean Dyche’s side this term – starting in 29 of those outings.

He is set to get the chance to impress suitors with Belgium at the European Championships in Germany, starting next month.
