Amadou Onana reacts to new message from Aston Villa teammate Youri Tielemans

Amadou Onana shared a message for teammate Youri Tielemans after the Aston Villa star reached a significant milestone on international duty.

Tielemans enjoyed an impressive campaign at Villa Park, even though the club narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification.

The Belgian midfielder was a key figure throughout the season, registering 15 goal contributions in all competitions and playing a vital role in Villa’s strong domestic and European form.

Despite his importance, Tielemans has been linked with a possible exit from Aston Villa this summer. Reports suggest clubs in Saudi Arabia are monitoring his situation closely, with Villa needing to carefully manage their finances heading into the next transfer window.

But while speculation over his club future continues, the 28-year-old had cause to celebrate while away with Belgium as he reached a new milestone with his national side.

Although the club season has wrapped up, international football is already underway, with Belgium preparing to face North Macedonia and Wales in World Cup qualifiers.

Tielemans was recognised during camp as he celebrated reaching 75 caps for the national team.

Belgium’s official Instagram account marked the achievement with the caption: “Some milestones unlocked”, while Tielemans shared it on his own story, writing: “75 caps already and hungry for more.”

His Aston Villa and Belgium teammate Onana showed his support by liking the post, as the squad prepare for their upcoming fixtures.

Tielemans was named Aston Villa’s Player of the Year following an excellent season, and national team boss Rudi Garcia will be hoping the midfielder can replicate that form on the international stage.

Across his 75 appearances for Belgium, Tielemans has scored nine goals and provided ten assists—although he is still chasing his first goal in a World Cup tournament.

While Tielemans’ future remains uncertain, Villa also look set to lose Marcus Rashford this summer.

The England international became a key figure at the club after joining on loan in January, but a permanent deal now appears unlikely.

Football Insider revealed that Rashford is targeting a move to Barcelona, with Manchester United prepared to cash in on the forward during the current window.

Having failed to secure Champions League qualification, Villa are facing financial constraints, raising the possibility that a big-name exit, such as Tielemans, may be necessary to balance the books.
