Amadou Onana sends injury update message after Aston Villa development
Aston Villa midfielder Amadou Onana has taken to social media to share an update with fans amid the club’s torrid run of form.
The 23-year-old has been on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, missing the last four games for club and country across all competitions.
Villa are in the midst of their worst run of form since Unai Emery took over two years ago, with his side winless in their last eight games across all competitions, losing five.
Their 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday (December 1) saw Emery’s side drop into the bottom half of the Premier League table, sitting in 12th with five wins, four draws, and four defeats from their 13 games.

The Belgium international was key for Villa before his injury, making 14 appearances across all competitions, all of which were starts, yielding 966 minutes of action.
Onana has even popped up with the odd goal, scoring three across all competitions, including openers in their 2-1 Premier League wins over West Ham and Leicester City.
The central midfielder is keen on returning as soon as possible, taking to Instagram to let fans know that he’s “recharging.”

Villa’s hopes of qualifying for Champions League football for the second consecutive season are dependent on how they navigate the hectic festive period.
Emery’s side face Thomas Franks’ high-scoring Brentford on Wednesday (December 4) as they aim to put their awful run of form behind them.
