Amadou Onana to complete Everton move soon with star teammate to follow – Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Amadou Onana is still set to complete a move away from the club.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested Dominic Calvert-Lewin could follow the 22-year-old despite the 30 June Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) “deadline” passing.
A flurry of deals were completed on or before Sunday (30 June) as clubs attempted to avoid potential punishment under PSR.
Onana and Calvert-Lewin have been widely linked with moves away from Everton this summer as their financial problems continue.
Wyness previously told Football Insider (19 June) that “negotiations are ongoing” to take star midfielder Onana to Arsenal this summer.
Everton could lose Onana and Calvert-Lewin past 30 June ‘deadline’, says Wyness
The ex-Everton CEO claimed Newcastle’s move for Calvert-Lewin could be resurrected after a stall in talks.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “There’s been a lot of comment about 30 June being the deadline for clubs who are flirting with PSR problems.
“That deadline has passed, and Everton are now in a position of strength to refuse any ridiculous offers – such as the one from Man United for Branthwaite.
“But I think Onana will still be going, that deal could happen soon.

“There may also still be life in a move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
“New additions have come in, Ndiaye has been announced. I’m excited about the prospect of a refreshed Everton squad.”
