Amanda Staveley could be banished from Newcastle United due to little-known PL rule – official
Amanda Staveley is at risk of losing her job at Newcastle United and shares in the club as well as being ‘disqualified’ as their managing director after the latest development in her legal case, Football Insider can reveal.
Staveley has been in an ongoing court trial against a Greek shipping magnate and was ordered on Monday (25 March) to pay £3.4million by April 22 or face a bankruptcy order.
If she fails to pay in time and is declared bankrupt, Section F of the Premier League handbook states that it is a “disqualifying event” which would see her lose her seat on the board and her shares in the club.
The 50-year-old Brit helped broker the £300million takeover of Newcastle United by PiF in 2021.
She has regularly been in attendance at St James’ Park following the takeover and was the face of the ‘We Are Newcastle United’ documentary.
Amanda Staveley bankruptcy threat could cost her Newcastle United seat
Staveley owned 10 percent of the club’s shares after the takeover, although her stake has since been reduced to six percent.
The Magpies chief was taken to court by Victor Restis – who demanded an initial payment of over £35million from Staveley.
The demand has been reduced to £3.4million after claims for interest and legal fees were dropped by Restis.

Staveley has publicly stated that she intends to appeal the decision made in High Court and that the bankruptcy petition is an “abuse of process”.
She also remains in two legal battles with former Newcastle owner Mike Ashley over disputes about the club’s kit sponsorship deal and a £10million loan provided during the takeover.
