‘Amazes me’, ‘Clement needs to wind his neck in’ – Rangers fans react to Todd Cantwell latest

Rangers fans are in awe of Todd Cantwell after his “awesome” performance against St Mirren in his preferred number 10 position.

Supporters have been eager to see the former Norwich City man play more centrally, with Philippe Clement opting to play him in wider positions for the majority of games this season.

They finally got their wish at Ibrox after the Englishman bagged himself two assists for Abdallah Sima’s brace on Sunday (3 December) in the 2-0 win over the Buddies.

With 88 per cent pass accuracy, four key passes, five ground duels won and three tackles, the 25-year-old proved a key force in the Gers win, which extended Clement’s unbeaten run to 10 in all competitions.

Fans have taken to social media to hail Cantwell, and many hope that Clement has finally realised where he needs to be played.

This fan insists Cantwell needs to stay at number 10.

One supporter has no doubts that Cantwell is “class” in his central role, but wanted fans that they must be patient with Clement’s selection due to their “bereft” squad.

This fan was much less forgiving of the boss for his continued selection of Cantwell out wide.

Some fans were not shocked to see Cantwell flourish and gave Clement a few more tips on how to get the most out of his squad.

This supporter was shocked by Clement’s previous positioning of Cantwell.

One fan claimed Cantwell is one of the few players capable of winning games for Rangers in the number 10 position.

This supporter was impressed by Cantwell’s outing against the Buddies but urged him to keep these performances up.
