‘Amazing’ Tottenham striker Parrott tipped to explode after latest development – Robinson
Paul Robinson has tipped Tottenham striker Troy Parrott to explode after he scored his first goal for loan club Ipswich Town.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one heaped praise on the “amazing talent” who celebrated his 19th birthday last month.
Parrott scored his first ever senior goal on Saturday, as Ipswich beat Plymouth 1-0 in League One.
The teenage striker moved to Portman Road on loan in January, having struggled at Millwall in the first half of the 2020-21 campaign.
A two-times Republic of Ireland international, Parrott has three appearances for Spurs since his senior debut in September 2019.
Asked if the centre-forward could now explode, Robinson told Football Insider: “Yes, I think that is the case.
“The reason he went out on loan is to get some goals at first team level to give him the confidence to play in Spurs’ team.
“It didn’t work out for him at Millwall so they had to bring him back and replace him, if you like. Now he is at Ipswich and he’s in the team which is great.
“He’s got his goal and I fully expect him to perform week in, week out now and add a few more to his name because he’s an amazing talent.”
Speaking on his goal, Parrott told iFollow Ipswich: “I’m delighted to get off the mark with my first professional goal.
“I’m confident there are more goals to come and all I’ll continue to do is try and get into the right positions.”
In other news, this may be the secret to Tanguy Ndombele’s remarkable resurgence at Tottenham.
