Analysis: Three Tottenham players who can inspire win against Swansea

COMMENT by Amir Mir

Tottenham host relegation threatened Swansea at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon looking to bounce back from their defeat to Chelsea last time out.

Spurs had their unbeaten start to the season ended by their London rivals, while Welsh outfit Swansea claimed a remarkable 5-4 win over Crystal Palace.

Here, Football Insider analyses the three Tottenham players who will be key to the north London club picking up all three points at the weekend:

Harry Kane

The 23-year-old is Tottenham’s go-to-guy and he has produced the goods when his side have needed it most.

He scored three goals in two games against London rivals Arsenal and West Ham to help Spurs secure three points following his return from injury in November.

Bob Bradley’s side conceded four goals last Saturday and were very fragile during set-pieces. Kane’s strength and aerial ability will cause them numerous problems over the course of the 90 minutes.

Christian Eriksen

The Denmark international scored a stunning goal against Chelsea last Saturday and will want to take that form into this weekend fixture.

By his standards, Eriksen has been poor this season, providing only three assists in 12 Premier League games.

However, his ability to pick out a pass and control a game could prove to be the difference against a side that is expected to keep 11 men behind the ball.

Toby Alderweireld

Centre-back Alderweireld has missed Tottenham’s last nine matches in all competitions as he could return to first-team action following a knee injury.

The Belgium international has been a huge miss for the north London club, in particular his passing, calmness and distribution from the back.

Swansea will be in for a long afternoon if Alderweireld is able to get back to his best straight away.
