‘Andoni Iraola could still leave Bournemouth for Tottenham despite claims’
Andoni Iraola apparent commitment to Bournemouth might not prevent him leaving as Ange Postecoglou’s future remains uncertain at Tottenham.
The Spaniard has breathed new life into the Cherries’ squad over the last two campaigns, leading the team to a ninth-place finish in the Premier League ahead of Brentford and Fulham.
His achievements at the Vitality Stadium have seen him heavily linked with an exit, though Football Insider understands that Bournemouth are confident of Iraola signing a new contract.
Iraola lost just 33 per cent of his matches across all competitions in 2024/25, and while he is adamant about staying with the Cherries, Darren Bent still believes that he could end up in North London after their 17th-placed Premier League finish.

Andoni Iraola to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
Postecoglou’s future as Tottenham manager is “50/50”, Football Insider understands, despite winning the Europa League title, and as a potential replacement, Bent said on talkSPORT: “Iraola. Iraola’s the one they’ll be looking at.”
Andy Goldstein then asked: “Didn’t he say recently that he’s not leaving Bournemouth?”
Bent replied: “Mate, how many times have we heard that? Come on, do you know what I mean? Thomas Frank would be a great fit, too, and even Marco Silva after a great season with Fulham.”
Daniel Levy cannot justify Postecoglou’s sack after Europa League
Football Insider verdict
Daniel Levy seems to have been backed into a corner over his manager’s future, with Postecoglou suggesting that his third season in North London could be even better than his second.
Bringing in the likes of Iraola, Frank, or even Silva would be quite the coup after each of their respective seasons in the Premier League, but it seems unlikely that a change is on the horizon.
Postecoglou had plenty of opportunities to walk away from Tottenham, with the supporters giving him plenty of abuse throughout the season, but he chose to stick and fight, and that is commendable.

Iraola was even tipped to replace Pep Guardiola at Man City, proving just how much he has overachieved on the south coast, but it remains to be seen if he can be drawn away from the Vitality.
As for Postecoglou, his excuses around injuries certainly made him enemy number one at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but after lifting silverware, he ultimately deserves another chance to prove himself.
Bournemouth fans will certainly believe so, anyway.
