Andoni Iraola destined for Man United appointment after what Bournemouth boss just said

Andoni Iraola’s future as Bournemouth manager continues to take fresh twists as his contract ticks down at the Vitality Stadium.

Football Insider understands that Bournemouth are confident that Iraola will put pen to paper on a new deal, but the Spaniard has never spent more than three years at one club.

He has won 40 of his 103 games in charge of the Cherries, recording a 38 per cent win rate, attracting the attention of several European giants with his solid tactics and ability to adapt.

Man United are one of the clubs interested in Iraola, with very few at Old Trafford completely sold on Ruben Amorim‘s future, having already been games away from getting sacked by the hierarchy.

While the Red Devils have moved to sixth in the Premier League table, there is still growing pressure on the manager’s shoulders, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe may have just been given the green light to replace him.

Andoni Iraola speaks glowingly about Old Trafford

Iraola loves a trip to Old Trafford, proven by his record there. In the last two seasons, the Cherries have won both fixtures 3-0 away from home, and they will intend on doing the same this term.

Dean Huijsen, Justin Kluivert, and Antoine Semenyo were all on the scoresheet in Manchester last time out, but Bournemouth are currently looking for their first win in seven games.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference before the Cherries travel to Old Trafford, he said: “I love playing at Old Trafford, to coach. It’s one of the best stadiums in the world, and the atmosphere is really nice.

“The problem is you face a team with top players, and my players need to know that to play at these stadiums, you need to be at a certain level that is very high and know they are playing a team that are on a good run.”

Bournemouth boss could follow Antoine Semenyo out the exit doors

Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that Man United are set to ramp up efforts to sign Semenyo, with the winger heavily linked with a move to a bigger Premier League club.

Man City, Liverpool, and Tottenham are all involved in the race for his signature, and if the Cherries are to lose another big star, it is difficult to see the manager tying himself down to another deal.

Given the fury around Amorim’s tenure to date, with Paul Scholes the latest to call him out publicly, the former Sporting CP boss may not have longer left at Old Trafford.

Iraola has spoken so positively about the Manchester club, and if those higher up at Old Trafford are listening, it would be a surprise if they were not ringing up at the Vitality Stadium.
