Andre Onana and Harry Maguire react as Man United announce new deal
Andre Onana was active on social media as Manchester United made a fresh announcement amid ongoing changes under INEOS.
Onana’s future has remained a topic of debate since last season, with scrutiny growing during Ruben Amorim’s underwhelming first campaign in charge.
His display in the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham proved a breaking point for many supporters, with a section of Man United fans calling for Onana to be sold on this summer.
However, a potential transfer may now be off the table — at least temporarily — after Onana sustained a hamstring injury during pre-season training.
United have already been linked with several goalkeeping targets in recent weeks, but it remains to be seen whether the club will now step up their search in response to this latest setback.
While senior recruitment remains a major focus, the club’s leadership have also turned attention to the academy and drawing reactions from a number of first-team players, including Onana.

Andre Onana shows support as Darren Fletcher named Man United Under-18s coach
Despite being sidelined with injury, Onana appeared to react on social media as Man United confirmed former midfielder Darren Fletcher as the new Under-18s lead coach.
The official club Instagram account shared the announcement with the caption: “Darren Fletcher has been named as our Under-18s lead coach.”
The post drew plenty of support from fans and players alike. Alongside Onana, both Harry Maguire and former teammate Scott McTominay liked the announcement.
Fletcher, who made over 340 appearances for the club during his playing days, initially returned to United in 2021. Since then, he has held a number of roles, from coaching the Under-16s to serving as technical director, a post now held by Jason Wilcox.
His new role begins with immediate effect, starting with a training camp at the adidas global headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
Man United accelerate interest in Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor

While Onana showed support for the club’s latest coaching appointment, questions remain over his future at Old Trafford.
Football Insider revealed on 13 July, Man United are preparing to intensify their interest in Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor as they weigh up competition and potential cover in light of Onana’s recent hamstring injury.
Aston Villa are also in the race to sign Victor, with Emiliano Martinez expected to depart this summer.
Man United had previously identified Martinez as a top target if Onana were to leave, but the Cameroonian’s setback has seemingly shifted the club’s focus toward a more cost-effective option in Victor.
