Radrizzani responds on Twitter to Leeds fans pleas to tie Monk down to new contract

Andrea Radrizzani has revealed that a decision on Garry Monk’s future at Leeds will be made in June when there is “more time for talks”.
The club’s chief was reacting on Twitter to the Whites recording a comfortable, yet important 3-0 win at home to Preston North End on Saturday afternoon.
During that match Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and substitute Souleymane Doukara were the players on the scoresheet against Simon Grayson’s side.
Monk is on the verge of helping the Yorkshire outfit seal a play-off place at the end of the season but his contract at Elland Road expires in the summer.
Fans have besieged co-owner Radrizzani with Twitter messages in recent weeks to tie Monk down to a long-term contract.

The Italian has stayed quiet until now but responded to give the board’s position on Saturday evening.
“Let’s enjoy the win,” Radrizzani wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Leeds stay United and support the boys. We will have time for talks and decisions in June.”

Former Swansea boss Monk signed a one-year rolling contract at Leeds in the summer when the controversial Massimo Cellino brought him to the club.
After a nervy start to his reign, the highly-rated coach has turned the fortunes around of a club that is hoping to end their 13-year Premier League drought.
Since their relegation from the top tier in 2003/04, this campaign has perhaps been the best opportunity for Leeds to secure a return back to the promise land.
More than likely, they will have to go through the play-offs to seal a return, with Huddersfield, Reading and Sheffield Wednesday, the teams they are likely to face.
