Andrew Robertson sends ‘massive’ Queen’s Park message after Rangers shock

Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson took to social media to celebrate his former club’s astonishing 1-0 Scottish Cup win over Rangers on Sunday (February 9).

The 30-year-old started his career at Queen’s Park, making 43 appearances in his one-year spell with the senior team before leaving in the summer of 2013.

Seb Drozd scored the only goal as the Scottish Championship side earned a surprise win over Philippe Clement’s Scottish Premier League counterparts.

Rangers fans were unsurprisingly furious with the result, suggesting that Clement being sacked is an ‘inevitability’ after the shock result.

Football Insider revealed that former Leicester City boss Steve Cooper is a frontrunner to potentially replace Clement should they decide to pull the trigger, as he sees the club as an “attractive opportunity.”

There has also been speculation regarding title-winning manager Steven Gerrard making a sensational return to Ibrox after his time in Saudi Arabia came to an end.

The left-back has been key to Liverpool’s plans so far this season, starting 26 of his 31 games across all competitions, scoring zero goals, and providing one assist in his 2186 minutes of action.

Robertson took to Instagram to send a message to his former club after their impressive win, saying: “Fair play to everyone at Queen’s Park. Massive day for the club.”

Robertson’s message comes after Liverpool also suffered a shock defeat in the Cup, losing 1-0 to Championship side Plymouth on Sunday.

Liverpool fans vented their frustrations on one player in particular, urging the club to cut their losses and sell winger Federico Chiesa.

In other news, ‘Alexander-Arnold could stay at Liverpool – and this is when they will find out’.
