Andrey Santos loves ‘perfect’ manager who could be about to take over at Chelsea imminently

Chelsea are on the hunt for a new manager once again after sacking Enzo Maresca on Thursday.

Relations between the Italian and Todd Boehly have been strained for some time, and the lack of harmony between the manager and the hierarchy has seen him pay the ultimate price.

Maresca’s dismissal at Chelsea has seemingly been in the pipeline for several weeks, and as a result, their search for a new man to step into the dugout will already be well underway.

A wide array of candidates are likely to be considered for the role at one of the Premier League’s top clubs, and one particular man already has the edge on the rest of the competition.

Andrey Santos hails ‘amazing’ Liam Rosenior amid Chelsea links

Andrey Santos’ performances for Chelsea have attracted attention from Manchester United in recent months, and his ascension into the first team at Stamford Bridge is a testament to their relationship with Strasbourg.

The French outfit also fall under the West Londoners’ BlueCo ownership, and the relationship between the two clubs has seen several players pass between them in recent years.

Santos is one of those stars, as he has spent the last two years on loan in Ligue 1 after joining Chelsea back in 2023.

Now it could be a manager who makes the switch between Boehly’s clubs, with Liam Rosenior installed among the early favourites to take over from Maresca after his unceremonious exit.

That is a move that would undoubtedly please Santos, as he has previously lavished praise on the Englishman during his spells working under him in France.

The Brazilian labelled the 41-year-old as “amazing” back in November, and even went as far as to suggest that the relationship that they shared was “perfect,” according to Sports Mole.

Santos went on to say that he “improved a lot” under Rosenior’s guidance, and that will surely be music to the ears of the Chelsea hierarchy.

Todd Boehly set for Liam Rosenior ‘no-brainer’

Links between Rosenior and Chelsea are inevitable, given the production line that has emerged between the Blues and Strasbourg of late.

The former Hull City boss is building a strong reputation for himself in Ligue 1, and he would be an ideal fit to take the reins at Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.

His existing relationship with Boehly and the rest of the BlueCo hierarchy will help to smooth out the transition away from the Maresca era, while also allowing for fresh ideas to be brought to the fore.

With that in mind, it is surely a no-brainer for the Premier League outfit to at least bring Rosenior in for an interview and let him share his view on the project.

There are certainly candidates with a bigger reputation that they could give the job to, but he could prove to be the ideal fit to lead their young and exciting squad in the next stage of their development.
