Andy Robertson bids farewell after Liverpool player exit confirmed
Liverpool’s huge summer of transfer business has continued with a huge profit earned on one of their Scotland internationals.
Arne Slot‘s side may have shelled out over £265million on new players this summer with potentially more to follow in the form of Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi, but Liverpool’s sales have also been plentiful.
Liverpool have brought in over £190m in transfer fees to help offset their vast array of spending this summer, with big-money exits for Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez to Bayern Munich and Al Hilal respectively.
The Reds have also aided their PSR position with the ‘pure profit’ sales of academy products like Tyler Morton, Jarell Quansah and Caoimhin Kelleher, and another significant profit has now been achieved.
Ben Doak seals £25m Bournemouth transfer
Liverpool paid Celtic £600,000 to sign a 16-year-old Ben Doak in March 2022, and three years on, the Reds have earned a profit of at least £19.4million after the Scot completed a move to Bournemouth.
Paul Robinson told Football Insider on 17 August that he valued Doak at £20m and expected Liverpool to include a buy-back clause in the winger’s deal, and both of those scenarios have come to pass.
Bournemouth have agreed a fee of £20m plus a further £5m in add-ons to beat Celtic to Gannon Doak’s signature, and the 19-year-old winger posted on Instagram with a welcome message to his new club.
Doak’s message from 18 August said: “Thank you God for this new opportunity, couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you also to everyone involved in helping make this happen – lets get to work Cherries”.
The youngster’s international captain Andy Robertson left a comment of support to say: “Good luck wee man”.

Liverpool’s simmer spending on the likes of Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike and club-record signing Florian Wirtz has been significant, but so too have been their outgoings.
Doak’s departure adds a further £20m at least to Arne Slot’s transfer kitty, and this will help Liverpool to make good on their intention to pay Newcastle £140m for Isak to complete their new-look frontline.
Guehi’s potential arrival could also cost £40m if Liverpool choose to pay up this summer rather than wait until the expiry of his contract in 12 months, as attention once again turns to their headline incomings.
