Andy Walker delivers verdict on Celtic unbeaten chances, two games will be pivotal
By Will Butcher
Andy Walker believes Celtic can go unbeaten for the remainder of the Scottish Premiership season but Old Firm rivals Rangers are more than capable of stopping them.
Celtic have remained unbeaten in their 32 league games this season, winning 29 of their domestic outings while drawing only three against Inverness, Rangers and Partick.
Speaking on Sky Sports News’ Premier League Daily Show on Monday (10am), former Celtic striker Walker claims Brendan Rodgers can complete the season without losing.
However, Walker believes Old Firm rivals Rangers will prove tough opposition – the two sides face each other in the Scottish Cup semi final as well as in the league six days later.
“I would have said around November, December they couldn’t do it because the games are tough,” Walker said.

“I was impressed with them against Kilmarnock because they withstood a lot of a lot pressure and still won. They have two difficult games, Rangers in the semi-final before facing them again, but now I think they can do it.”
Celtic continued their sublime form in Brendan Rodgers’ first season with a 3-1 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday, thanks to goals from Stuart Armstrong, Scott Sinclair and James Forrest.
With the Scottish League Cup and the league title already secured, Rodgers will be desperate to maintain his side’s momentum going into April 23’s semi-final against Rangers.
Fresh from signing a new four-year deal on Parkhead, the former Liverpool boss could see his side complete a remarkable treble if they beat Rangers with Hibernian and Aberdeen looking to join them in the final.
Celtic are unbeaten against Rangers this season – in four meetings to date they’ve won three and drawn the last one.
The Hoops are next in action against Ross County on Sunday, before facing the Gers two times within seven days.
